Chinese Gender Prediction Chart

An ancient Chinese method to predict your baby's gender based on mom's lunar age and the month of conception. Just for fun — 50% accuracy!

The Chinese Gender Prediction Chart is an ancient folk method, reportedly found in a Beijing tomb over 700 years ago. It is NOT scientifically proven. Actual accuracy is approximately 50%. For entertainment only.

About the Chinese Gender Chart

The Chinese Gender Prediction Chart is said to be over 700 years old, reportedly discovered in a royal tomb near Beijing. It uses the mother's lunar age at conception and the lunar month of conception to predict whether the baby will be a boy or girl.

While it's a beloved cultural tradition — especially popular at baby showers and gender reveal parties — scientific studies show its accuracy is approximately 50%, no better than chance. A 2009 study published in the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology found no statistical significance in the chart's predictions.

The only reliable methods to determine baby's sex are medical: ultrasound (typically accurate from 18–20 weeks) and NIPT blood test (available from 10 weeks with >99% accuracy).
